Dear statistics:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGH! I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU.
Love,
Dan
So…my intern project is wrapping up, the field season winding down, and my self-esteem is heading out. A lot has happened over the last few months, and while I can definitely say I've learned a good deal from all of the events and tribulations through which we stumbled, I don't feel any more developed as a scientist than I did when I came here.
Honestly, there are some days when I feel even less certain of my research interests. Or, more accurately, I'm mentally capable of pursuing my research interests. Solid field biology requires solid quantitative skills, incredible creativity, astute observation and endless pragmatism…four qualities I definitely lack. Alas, I suppose an appreciation of nature is not enough to become an ecologist…
Speaking of an appreciation of nature, here are some pictures of cute animals.
